Fundraising high kicked into gear on Sunday, July 16th, at Join the Human Race, a collaborative event organized by First Link and supported by United Way. Annette Dale Todd lead over 3,000 participants in warm-ups before they dashed for charity cash in a 5K. This was Annettes second year leading warm-ups, "It was certainly an honor to once again be asked to participate in the Human Race. As guest instructor it is my responsibility to jump start the crowd into the spirit to walk, jog or run." The race generates the largest amount of revenue of any single fundraiser in central Ohio. Participants run, walk, jog, or rollerblade the 3.2 miles, raising money for charities aiding the mentally, physically, and financially disabled. Annette teaches fitness classes at the Sawmill Athletic Club and is certified in many different fitness programs, along with being a Certified Personal Trainer. She coordinates and participates in fundraisers using the SPIN program she teaches, "This event is part of my continued effort to encourage people to develop peak mental, spiritual, and physical health by being more proactive with their health and exercise choices." Annette inspires her students at Sawmill Athletic Club to push themselves by finding personal goals to strive toward while training smart. Her electric attitude made her the perfect choice to lead others in stepping up and off for charity. Recently, Annette joined a Columbus based fitness apparel company, addictactivewear.com and will hold a key administrative position. She inspired ten of her fellow addictactivewear.com athletes to join her in the run for charity. They were in the bright colors of Addicts apparel line and were easy to pick out in the crowd. The event began at 8:30 a.m. Sunday morning in front of COSI. Many came out and supported this race and the less fortunate in the community. This event was covered locally by Channels 4(NBC) and 10(ABC).
